Lytro Illum camera technical specifications released, Android based camera rumored for Fall

Lytro revealed the technical specifications for their latest Illum camera ($1,499): CMOS sensor with 40 “megaray”  resolution, 8x zoom, 1/4000 sec maximum shutter speed and a 30 – 250mm f/2 lens. Lytro to add parallax-based 3D effect by the end of the year

Later this year Lytro will introduce a “parallax-based 3D effect” for photos taken with their light-field camera (now available on Amazon) via a software update. The company is also planning to add support for 3D monitors and TVs. See this video demonstration of the new feature:
