After layoffs and a new $50 million investment, Lytro will concentrate on virtual reality and video

I guess the Lytro camera concept did not go so well. Re/code now reports that Lytro is going to cut “between 25 and 50 people from its 130 person workforce” after raising an additional $50 millions. The company is planning to concentrate on virtual reality and video in the future:

Lytro Illum camera technical specifications released, Android based camera rumored for Fall

Lytro revealed the technical specifications for their latest Illum camera ($1,499): CMOS sensor with 40 “megaray”  resolution, 8x zoom, 1/4000 sec maximum shutter speed and a 30 – 250mm f/2 lens.
