More Kodak film being discontinued *updated*

Update: Kodak contacted me to clarify that those are not product discontinuations, just packaging changes:

Kodak is only ceasing one line, Elite Chrome. The rest are all simply packaging and catalogue listing changes, which is not such an unusual procedure. As long as photographers purchase and use Kodak’s film in sufficient quantities and demonstrate their commitment to film that way, we will be able to continue manufacturing the film.

More Kodak film is being discontinued (in connection to my previous post):

  • Tmax 400 120 in single rolls
  • Tri-x pan 120 400 in single rolls
  • Elite Chrome 100/36
  • BW400cn/24 three packs
  • Gold 200/24 four packs
  • Max 400/12 single roll
  • Max 400/24 four packs

Fuji organic sensor, Casio circle panorama and Olympus phase detection AF patents

Fuji was granted a patent 8053661 for an organic sensor. Some readers speculated yesterday that this sensor may be used in the upcoming Fuji LX mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. From the patent’s summary:

An object of the present invention is to provide an organic photoelectric conversion layer exhibiting high photoelectric conversion efficiency, low dark current and high-speed responsivity, and a photoelectric conversion element and a solid-state imaging device each using the layer.

In an organic photoelectric conversion element, for realizing high photoelectric conversion efficiency, low dark current and high-speed responsivity, the organic photoelectric conversion layer used preferably satisfies the following requirements.

Fuji mirrorless interchangeable lens camera leaked *UPDATED*

Here are first six blurry images of the upcoming Fuji mirrorless interchangeable lens camera:

As previously mentioned, Fuji will have their own proprietary mount for this camera. The body and lenses appear to be large enough to be full frame. One of the lenses appears to be f/1.4 with manual aperture ring.

More details: the new camera will be called Fuji LX and probably will have an APS-C sensor. It will be announced with three lenses: one pancake 18mm f/2, the second will be 35mm f/1.4 and the third lens will be a zoom. A fourth 60mm lens is also a possibility.
