The latest Canon rumors: EOS M2 to be announced soon, specifications leaked

Canon will soon announce a new EOS M2 mirrorless camera with the following specifications:

  • 18MP APS-C sensor
  • Hybrid CMOS AF II
  • AF speed is about 2.3 times faster then the current EOS-M model
  • Servo AF for video
  • DIGIC5 image processing engine
  • Continuous shooting at 4.6 fps
  • ISO sensitivity up to ISO12,800 (ISO25,600 extended )
  • 8% reduction of body size compared with current EOS-M model
  • Built-in Wi-Fi
  • New function: remote operation from smartphone
  • Available in black and white
  • iMAGE GATAWAY: can transfer photos (wirelessly I assume) to a smartphone, printer, etc.

The current EOS-M model with lens is currently on sale for $299 ($300 off).

Sony a7 now in stock

The Sony a7 full frame mirrorless camera is currently shipping in the US and is currently in stock at B&H. The a7r version (no AA filter) is in stock in Europe (Fotohanskeuzekamp) and is expected to start shipping in the US on December 1st.

The new Sony 35mm f/1.8 OSS E-mount lens is also in stock.
