Yvon Bourqur mentioned on his blog that the new Pentax K-… will be announced “Monday morning, Sept 20th, 7:00 A.M California time. He even proudly mentioned that he “doesn’t do rumors”, so this is the real deal.

Panasonic GH2: picture and specs

After a brief apopearance on a California beach, here is a better picture of the Panasonic GH2

The GH2 has one LSI with three cores (instead of current two cores of the GH1)
Improved AF speed (0.099 second with the 14-140mm kit-lens)

Samsung in the spotlight

In addition to the NX100, Samsung also announced two lenses, external flash, EVF and GPS unit.

Samsung plans 3D cameras with single sensor.

What did we miss?

Amateurphotographer hints again that Olympus may produce mirrorless cameras only in the future.

Quote: “Demand for mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras is poised to overtake DSLR sales within two years, according to Samsung”.

Pentax is back to profits (PDF):

“In the beginning of June we shipped the medium-format digital SLR (645D) for professional and advanced amateur use. Priced at about 900,000 yen apiece, we released several hundred in one go, and it sold so well we finally managed to get back orders. As a result, the camera business broke even in the first quarter.”
