Pentax Japan has listed two new announcements for tomorrow, January 17, on their website. The first one is for a new firmware update 1.01 for the Pentax K-5 II, the second is for a new Efina entry level digital compact camera with a "stylish design". Pentax used to have an Efina film camera model with an unusual design.
Smilar to Leica, Canon opens their first "Image Square" center in Canada where visitors can experience the latest Canon products and technology.
During the 2013 CES show Ricoh had a new 360 degree panoramic camera prototype on display at their booth. Last year I reported the rumor that Pentax is working on a 360 degree camera which was later on display during Photokina. It seems that Pentax/Ricoh have not given up on that idea yet.

Mirrorless NX prototypes from Samsung promotional video
Samsung will announce their new NX-R mirrorless camera in March, 2013. There is no date yet for the Samsung NX30 release (replacement of the NX20), but the camera is in development right now. I received some unconfirmed information that the new NX-R (or NX Pro) could have a full frame sensor inside. No details were provided on the lens mount or other camera specs. Back in 2009 Samsung's representative suggested that the "firm is actively pursuing development of a full-frame CMOS sensor intended for use in a professional camera." As far as I know the NX lenses currently cannot cover a full frame sensor. The name NX-R has appeared on several occasions in the past few months - the camera is real, I just seriously doubt it will be full frame:
Metabones and Caldwell Photographic introduced today the Speed Booster lens adapter that mounts between a mirrorless camera and a SLR lens. The adapter increases the maximum aperture by 1 stop, it also improves MTF, sharpness and has a focal length multiplier of 0.71x.
