Samsung GX-2 monster
I received this picture anonymously – don’t have any more details, but if true this will be a very interesting development from Samsung. Note also the lens: 16-55mm f/2.8:

Here is a picture of Samsung GX20 with a battery grip that could have been used as a base to create the above image in Photoshop:
Three years ago Samsung had a 10 megapixel DSLR prototype that was also called GX2 (source):
SDXC memory cards will reach up to 2TB in the future
“Secure Digital memory cards based on the new SDXC (extended capacity) specification could be out as early as next year with a capacity of 64GB, with 2TB available at some future point, said Kevin Schader, director of communications at the SDA.”
Samsung announcement on July 7th
Post updated
I got some more info on the Samsung announcement – the new compact camera will be HZ30W:
- Design like HZ series
- 1/1.8″ CMOS sensor instead of a CCD 1/2.33″ (10mx?)
- ISO 100-3200
- Video Full HD
- 5X optical zoom (24-120mm) with ring zoom
- 3″ AMOLED
- RAW files
- It will call WB700 in Europe
The GX30 will be like K7, but with the GX20 design.
Continuation on the Samsung GX30 thread: In South Korea the official presentation will be the July 7th and will have 3 cameras:
- GX30 (DSLR)
- NX3 (Hybrid camera)
- HZ30W / WB700 (compact camera)
