Fuji GFX 50S coming in early 2017

Fujifilm released several new promo videos for the upcoming GFX 50S mirrorless medium format camera. It is interesting to note that all videos end with the banner “GFX see you early 2017” (shown above). I think it is safe to assume that all technical details, pricing and pre-order info will be officially announced in early 2017 – probably together with the X100F and X-T20 cameras for the CP+ show in Japan.

Irix 11mm f/4 lens to start shipping in January 2017

The new Irix 11mm f/4 lens should start shipping in January, 2017 according to a Facebook post from their distributor in Sweden. The lens is expected to be priced above 600 EUR.

Update: European price is €639 for the Firefly version and €879 for the Blackstone version (source).

Irix lenses are available in Nikon, Canon and Pentax mounts and can be purchased at Amazon US, Amazon UK, Amazon DE and Amazon IT.

Zhongyi Mitakon 20mm f/2.0 4.5X high magnification ratio macro lens now in stock

Canon rumors recap

The latest Canon rumors:

Canon is rumored to announce a new EOS M camera in February for the CP+ show in Japan. The new model will stand below the EOS M5 and will probably look like the EOS M10 / EOS M3.
CanonRumors also debunked some fake news about the Canon EOS 6D Mark II being replaced by a full frame mirrorless camera. I am not sure how this even got any traction online – replacing a DSLR with a mirrorless in the same product line will never happen.
Canon PowerShot G 9 X Mark II camera is also coming soon (most likely announced at CES in early January 2017).
A new Canon EOS 77D will replace the Canon EOS Rebel T6s.

First press photo, shipping date of the Panasonic GH5 camera

I already reported that the Panasonic GH5 camera will be officially released on January 4th, 2017. It appears that the shipping/availability date will be March 1st, 2017 according to biggest Romanian photo gear site F64. They also show the first press photo of the GH5 unless they photoshopped it (the photo released at Photokina and currently used by retailers was more of a teaser than a real product photo):
