New Canon mirrorless camera adapter patent

Canon filed a patent 2011-107255 in Japan for a mount adapter with a built-in aperture. The adapter will have  means of communication between the camera and the lens. The aperture in the adapter can be controlled electronically. The camera body on the diagram resembles some kind of  a mirrorless solution.

Olympus 6-24mm f/1.8-3.8 lens patent

Olympus filed a patent in Japan for a 6-24mm f/1.8-3.8 lens designed for a point and shoot camera (28-112mm equivalent): The ZX-1 has a similar i.Zuiko 6-24mm f/1.8-2.5 lens. Maybe Olympus is thinking of introducing a lower level P&S camera with a wide f/1.8 aperture.
