  • Sandisk released Extreme Pro SDHC UHS-I card together with a new Extreme Pro ExpressCard Adapter:

Some Canon rumors: 600D and 1100D to be announced next month

Here are the rumored specs on the two new Rebel models:

T3i/600D

  • 18mp sensor
  • 3.7fps
  • Vari-Angle 3″ LCD
  • DiGiC IV
  • Redesign of the model nameplate as well

T3/1100D

  • 12mp sensor
  • DiGiC IV
  • Will be available in red and black

Both cameras are expected to be announced during the CP+ show in Japan (February 9-12).

Fuji X100 now available for pre-order

UPDATE: Amazon is also now taking pre-orders.

The Fuji x100 US price of $1,199.00 is now confirmed by Adorama and I was just able to pre-order mine – this camera will be back ordered for months, if you are planning on buying one, Adorama is currently the only major retailer in the US that is taking pre-orders:

The Fuji x100 is expected to start shipping in March, 2011.

Fuji FinePix X100 shutter and aperture demo (video)

Sony DSC-HX9V and DSC-HX100V cameras listed at B&H for a short time

The rumored Sony DSC-HX9V camera got listed at B&H today. The listing is now removed, but not before Google cached the page:

The second model DSC-HX100V was also listed, but Google cache did not capture the image.

Both cameras are expected to be announced on February 2nd.

Sony to release a mirrorless camera (A-mount) with 3 sensors and ISO up to 819 200

The rumor is that before April of 2011, Sony will release a new mirrorless camera with 3  CCD (CMOS) sensors. Each of the sensors will be 6MP and the combined ISO will be up to 819 200 (up to 16mp combined image size). The camera will have an α-mount, contrast AF, 1.5x crop factor. It seems that working models are already floating around to selected individuals.

Niksoftware Silver Efex Pro 2 to be released in February

A new version 2 of Silver Efex Pro by Niksoftware will be released in February of 2011. I was told that the new plugin will have some new features and functionality.
Silver Efex Pro is used for black and white image conversion and is available as a plugin for Lightroom, Photoshop and Aperture.

More price increases in the US (Lowepro and Tamrac)

In addition to Canon, Zeiss and Sony, the photo gear bag manufacturers Lowepro an Tamrac are also expected to raise their prices on February 1st, 2011 in the US. For Lowepro the price increase will be around 10%, for Tamrac it will be 10-14%.

Canon will increase the prices of their lenses by 10% (similar for Zeiss and Sony).

Rumor: Sony, Zeiss lenses are going up in price in the US

I received some reports that Zeiss and Sony lenses will be going up in price in the US on February 1st, 2011. Not sure if all lenses will be impacted or what exactly the price increase will be (expecting to get a price list later today or tomorrow).

PMA launches CliQ
