New in-browser push notifications implemented for PhotoRumors


You can now subscribe to in-browser push notifications for PhotoRumors.


You can control your subscription from the small red bell icon located on the lower right corner of the screen or from the settings in your browser. Currently, the notifications work only for Chrome, Safari and Firefox browsers.

Fujifilm’s latest financial results


Fujifilm published their Revised Consolidated Earnings Forecast for the Fiscal Year Ended March 2017 after the company's stock took a nose dive because of reported accounting problems:

"Although sales in areas such as electronic imaging field of the optical device and electronic imaging business have increased, our sales and operating income has decreased due to a decrease in sales in the healthcare business and the document business."

Fujifilm shares down after reports of accounting problems


Reuters reports that Fujifilm's shares fell after media reports of accounting problems found in Australia and Japan:

"Accounting problems have been found at Fuji Xerox Australia and in Japan, the business daily Nikkei said citing a source. Losses could reach 30 billion yen to 50 billion yen ($272 million to $453 million), Nikkei added. Fujifilm had previously postponed its earnings announcement for the year ended March due to an accounting probe into questionable practice at Fuji Xerox New Zealand Ltd."

Meyer Optik Görlitz launched a new Lydith 30mm f/3.5 lens on Kickstarter


Meyer Optik Görlitz launched a new Lydith 30mm f/3.5 project on Kickstarter. The new lens is described as "the sharpest and most contrasty lens" in the company's history.

Designed in the late 1950s and introduced in 1964, the modern version of the Lydith will be updated with high-perfomance lens coatings and a short minimum focusing distance of 8 inches (16 cm). Like all of Meyer-Optik's lenses, the Lydith will be fully manual, 100 percent handmade in Germany.
