I received some information that Fuji will probably develop their own proprietary mount for their upcoming mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. Fuji is considering their new camera to be “first class” (source, page 10): “Next spring, a first-class, mirror-less digital SLR camera will be launched”
The Brazilian website ztop published this Fijifilm Finepix X roadmap. The new Fuji X mirrorless interchangeable lens camera is listed for February, 2012. Not clear if this is the announcement or release date. Prototypes of the new camera are expected to be shown at the 2012 CES show in January.
According ot the latest tweet from FujiGuys, the upcoming FujiFilm X mirrorless camera will not have a m4/3 sensor (Fuji is part of the m4/3 group). They descried the X series as a “premium camera”.
