SanDisk” soon more new cameras will be compatible with their new UHS-I cards

SanDisk promises that soon more new cameras will support their new UHS-I cards:

“Asked about the compatibility of the fastest cards and their technology firm UHS-I, Philippe Williams, director of marketing for SanDisk for Europe, Africa and the Middle East said that the list of cameras would soon expand.

It will be interesting to see what those new cameras will be. For now only the Nikon D5100, D7000 and Sony A77 can take a full advantage of the UHS-I cards.

Fuji X100 now ships with new firmware v1.11

Some new Fuji X100 owners have reported that their cameras came with firmware version v1.11 (current official version is v1.10). There have been some talk in the past that another X100 firmware update is a possibility.

Sigma APO 50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM lens to start shipping next month

According to an email from Sigma customer service to a reader, the APO 50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM lens that was announced back in February will start shipping next month (October, 2011). No MSRP was given.

Rumor: Samsung is implementing an electronic shutter in their sensor

Samsung is rumored to be implementing an electronic shutter mode in a new APS-C batch production. It is not clear yet if it is for NX200 or it is a completely new sensor for the upcoming NX20.

High speed rolling shutter technology is already implemented in the new 20.3MPx APS-C sensor on the NX200, but electronic shutter mode is not activated on it.

Samsung NX200 to be released on October 1st?

According to Amazon UK, the Samsung NX200 mirrorless camera will be released on October 1st, 2011. B&H is currently taking pre-orders which is another indication that the camera will start shipping soon. The NX200 was announced on September 1st.
