When I initially reported the rumor about a new digital recording binoculars from Sony, I did not believe that such product exists, but today Sony announced the DEV-3 and DEV-5: a new gadget that combines a digital camera, camcorder and binoculars. The low end model costs $1,399.99, the DEV-5 price is $1,999.99.

Bloomberg and WSJ published articles that Kodak’s patents are probably worth $3 billion and the company has started marketing them to potential buyers that could include Microsoft, Samsung, and even Google. The company’s equity is currently valued at $600 million after a series of negative financial news.

Nauticam announced a new underwater housing NA-GF2 for Panasonic Lumix GF2 camera. The housing has a depth rating of 100m and it will cost $1750. Shipping will start on August 20, 2011.
The tip I just received about a new Sony digital binocular sounds more like a joke, but I thought I’d publish it anyway:
In addition to the NEX-7, NEX-5N, a77, a65 cameras and LA-EA2 adapter, Sony is expected to introduce also a successor to the NEX-VG10 E-mount Handycam Camcorder and a new digital binocular (combining a binocular with a digital camera?).
