Sony Canada leaks NEX-5E, NEX-VG20 and 55-210mm lens

Sony Canada leaked on their service website a black and silver NEX 5 cameras which are probably the model number for their upcoming NEX 5E model. The other two products are NEXVG20, the replacement of the Sony NEX-VG10 and SEL55210 which stands for a new 55-210mm lens for NEX.

New Canon mirrorless camera adapter patent

Canon filed a patent 2011-107255 in Japan for a mount adapter with a built-in aperture. The adapter will have  means of communication between the camera and the lens. The aperture in the adapter can be controlled electronically. The camera body on the diagram resembles some kind of  a mirrorless solution.

Is this the Sony NEX 7?

This is suppose to be the NEX 7 camera from Sony with an EVF. I was already told that the NEX 7 will have a different look, but I am not sure I believe the two wheels design on the right.

New firmware v1.11 for Pentax K-5 and K-r ready to be released

Update: the new firmware v1.11 is now official for the  645D, K-5 and K-r cameras.

Pentax UK has a new firmware version 1.11 for the K-5 and K-r cameras listed on their website. The download links are not active yet. Expect the firmware to be released in the next few days.

Fujifilm confirms that it is considering a compact system camera

Fujifilm confirmed to AP that it is considering to launch a compact system camera.

Flashback:

This rumor started back in 2009 when a Micro Four Thirds camera with an EXR sensor was expected to be announced at the 2010 PMA show. The camera never materialized, but few months later Fuji announced the FinePix X100 which became an instant hit.

Back in February the Fujiguys tweeted about something exciting coming in fall of 2011.
