After Polaroid, Samsung could be the next manufacturer to release an Android based digital camera. They already filed a patent for a Samsung Galaxy camera. Engadget was recently at Samsung's Korean headquarters and reported that the company is considering an "open" camera operating system:

Just a reminder that Sony will be increasing the prices of some of their lenses with $20 to $700 on April 1st, 2012 (that's not an April Fools' joke). If you are planning to buy some of the glass listed in the table below, it will be a good idea to do it now:
Zeiss revealed another piece of the specs for upcoming Distagon T* 2,8/15 ZF.2/ZE super wide angle lens: focusing range will be 0.25m to infinity. The lens will be announced this Friday (March 16th, 2012).
Update: the new lens will have 15 elements in 12 groups.
When Sigma UK announced their reward points program, they actually provided a monetary value of JPY400,000 (around $4800) that will be distributed to existing SD1 owners. The US press release from last month did not specify the exact value of the rewards plan. The initial SD1 price was $6,899, the new price is $2,299 - a $4,600 difference.
