Full press release after the break:
September 1st will be an exciting day. First, Panasonic will unveil the new GF1:
Then Canon will bring the big guns with the EOS 7D, 3 New Lenses and an underwater video camera:
And don’t forget: Leica M9 on 09.09.09!
Received multiple tips that the Sony A700 DSLR camera will be discontinued. Expect some good deals on this model.
On another note, In an interview with BJP, Sony said that they are not yet ready to to enter the professional market.
This is a very reliable information, but unfortunately I do not have more details. I guess this new lens would be a replacement of the current Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro telephoto zoom lens and will add OS (Optical Stabilizer) function. This lens could be announced next week (maybe even on Monday).
The pictured lens is the current model.
A lot of new cameras are being released and will be released in the next few days (Canon, Panasonic on September 1st). Samsung is also preparing a WB5000 super zoom. For some reason the original Cnet article was removed (maybe it is not yet official?). Google has also cached a Samsung UK page with the same model number, but now the page is also removed. Weird.
Here are the specs:
This is the anonymous tip I just received. A photoshop job?
