If you don’t follow LeicaRumors that’s ok. Here is what you need to know: Leica M9 to be released on September 9th (09.09.09 at 09:09am). The M9 will have an 18MP, full frame sensor (probably from Kodak).
But wait, there is more: another unknown and “interesting” Leica camera is also expected to be announced (probably on the same date).

Tokina is looking into image stabilization and the first lens to receive it will be the Tokina 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 ATX840 D zoom lens. This was in a direct email from Tokina support to a PhotoRumors reader in response to introducing image stabilization in Tokina lenses.
Sony sent out press invitation for August 25th in Taiwan with the slogan: ”Most exciting new α series DSLR is coming”. The previous report was for a press conference on August 27th or 28th. The dates may vary in the different parts of the world. Sony α850 is expected and maybe more.
Canon EOS 7D coming soon (in two weeks)? The previous Best Buy leak seems to be coming true after the PowerShots release today.

In an interview with Reuters Hoya’s CEO Hiroshi Suzuki said:
“I’m afraid it will need some sort of alliance with another company in the long term.”

After the announcement of the ST1000, Samsung is trying to find a good use of the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi:
“Samsung has confirmed to Pocket-lint that it hopes to sign up Wi-Fi operators in the next 12 months to allow users of its wireless cameras access to public hotspots around the globe.”
Good idea, when will we see this in a DSLR?
The Samsung NX will be released at the beginning of 2010 and not in the last quarter of 2009 as previously expected.
